Prior to that he was affiliated with a Stamford, Connecticut law firm and, from 1974 until 1987, he served in various branches of the United States Department of Justice including; the Antitrust Division (under the honors program), the Office of the United States Attorney for the District of Columbia and the Office of the United States Attorney for the District of Connecticut (where he was chief fraud counsel).
